REACH-CLP-Biozid Helpdesk

The REACH-CLP-Biozid Helpdesk is set up at the Federal Office for Chemicals (BfC - Bundesstelle für Chemikalien). The BfC, being a division of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA - Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin), is the competent authority for the implementation of legal provisions aiming at the protection of human health and the environment from hazardous substances.

The German federal REACH-CLP-Biozid Helpdesk provides support for manufacturers, importers and users of chemical substances regarding the registration, evaluation, authorisation and approval as well as the classification and labelling of chemical substances and biocides.

If you are located in Germany or place chemicals or biocides on the German market, you can send us your enquiries regarding the REACH-, CLP- and Biocidal Products Regulation using the contact form.

If you are located outside the EU, you can contact the European Helpdesk of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) or access a plethora of information in English language on ECHA's Internet page. Below, you can find links concerning the most relevant topics.

Please note that our content in English language is still limited. Concerning biocides, you can find information on specific transitional measures for biocidal products containing "existing active substances" as well as on treated products. We also provide information on emergency telephone numbers that are required in section 1.4 of safety data sheets. Additionally we provide an English version of the German RMOA-list (list of substances that undergo/underwent a Risk Management Option Analysis). Here, companies or associations from the affected industries intermittently have the possibility to submit relevant information for substances under current consultation.

If you would like more information on the research project on the quality of registration dossiers carried out by the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR - Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung), you find the contact details in the corresponding section.
